One Canada Square

Many people (including some of the vetters) thought that "Canary Wharf" should have been allowed as an alternative answer to this question. One Canada Square is often known by this name, even though it's incorrect.

Canary Wharf is a district of London. After its docks closed in 1980, the Government encouraged redevelopment. One Canada Square was one of the first buildings to be completed, in 1991, and as it was Britain's tallest building at the time it attracted extensive publicity. This is how it came to be known by the name of the district that it was located in.
